Welcome
My name is Mrs. Adaline, the owner and founder of Little Roots Play Garden. I was born and raised in Sacramento, California, until I was eight years old and spent the rest of my childhood in the Cottonwood/Redding before returning to Sacramento in 2022. I’m a wife and a proud mother to a joyful 4-year-old son.
I have been working alongside children for the past 11 years, and my love for this work continues to grow with each passing year. My journey toward becoming an Early Childhood Educator began with the imaginative play I shared with my stuffed animals as a child. At 16, I completed an internship at a lab preschool, which solidified my calling to work with young children. Since then, I’ve dreamed of opening my own home-based program that honors the wonder and rhythm of early childhood.
I hold an Associate of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education from Shasta College (2017) and am a proud graduate of LifeWays North America, a Waldorf training program that centers on care for children from birth to age seven—where life itself is the curriculum and home is the model.
My Programs
Little Roots Play Garden is located in a quiet neighborhood in Arden Arcade, Sacramento. Offering holistic care for the young child and their family, placing the head, heart, and hands at the center of our work. Rooted in the philosophy of Rudolf Steiner and inspired by the principles of Waldorf Education and Lifeways North America, my offerings include a nurturing parent-child program, 3 day play garden and seasonal workshops. Some gatherings are created with the whole family in mind and others just for women whether you're a mother or not—gatherings that honor the sacred work of caregiving - self-care as well and give us space to connect, reflect, and find nourishment in community.
Children are lovingly held, gently guided, and deeply nurtured through imaginative play, storytelling, singing, movement, games, seasonal crafts, and meaningful work. In my warm, home-like environment, children are free to grow, explore, and thrive within comforting daily rhythms. Our connection extends beyond the child to the family, offering a space for community, support, and shared growth through the early years.
