Receive the children in reverence, educate them in love, let them go forth in freedom

Play Garden Preschool
Little Roots is an annual program running August through June. Providing holistic childcare that places the young child’s head, heart, and hands at the center of importance. In our “home away from home,” children spend their days in the garden, our outdoor playhouse, and the warm comfort of my home. Through imaginative play, singing, movement, games, stories, cooking and handcrafts, we discover the world together in a rhythm that nourishes the whole child.
I welcome children ages 18 months to 5 years old into a mixed-age group of 5-6 children that feels much like a family. In this nurturing environment, younger children learn naturally by observing and imitating the older ones, while the older children develop confidence, empathy, and a sense of responsibility as they care for and guide the younger ones. This multi-age setting supports social and emotional growth, deepens relationships, and fosters a strong sense of belonging—just like in a family. My curriculum will follow the seasons and will include a nature focus, living arts, art, songs, stories, and festivals for the family. The children in my care are lovingly held, guided, and nurtured, with our relationship extending beyond the classroom to embrace the whole family.
